However he emphasised that the group was "deeply committed to peace" and would not resort to violence.

Debating at St Elizabeth's

Debating is all about expressing your feelings and ideas in a polite way. It helps you develop your confidence so you can speak out in public and in your lessons at school. Competing in a debate team is a way of making new friends and arguing in a polite manner. We hope you enjoy debating in the future and maybe  you can  join our St Elizabeth's team!

We go on termly competitions against other schools in Manchester and onwards. For the last two years running, we have had the amazing opportunity to compete in Oxford and we hope to have the same chance this year!!! These competitions are usually held (apart from the final) at different schools around Manchester and many compete for their place in the final.

If you have a winning streak throughout the debating season, you can to go to Oxford and show off your debating skills with fellow debaters in the stunning Oxford University. We have triumphed in Oxford for the past 2 years running (2015 and 16) and hope to again!!!
